Budapest 'ruin bar' meets Penang hawker market, in a seaside noodle bar. Can you picture it? No? That's because it's never been done before! Trust us it’s perfect for Blackpool, a brilliant mix of authentic dishes and modern design all by the seaside.
Michael Wan’s is a family team who currently run a busy little Chinese restaurant in Blackpool's town centre. Having been here since 1961 we know the people of Blackpool and its visitors have a real soft spot for Asian cuisine and the more we talk to our customers the clearer it is that they want to try more Asian styles and flavours. With this in mind we decided to spread our wings and open restaurant #2 – the Wok Inn Seaside Noodle Bar!

Our pan-Asian menu gathers influences of cooking styles from all around Asia; including Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, China, Indonesia and Vietnam.
The design of the restaurant is influenced by some of our favourite places to eat and drink, it takes its cues from the street food ‘Hawker’ markets of Penang mixed with the reclaimed building feel of Budapest’s ruin bars. These places both have a magical feel, something that we’ve tried to recreate for the people of Blackpool to enjoy.
Penang, Malaysia is an eclectic melting pot of various food styles, with influences from Indonesia, Thailand, India and China, dishes such as soup ramen and stone-baked donburi are two great examples of the depth in flavour, which can be created when different styles come together.
During the restaurant renovation process we found some amazing original features which encouraged us to follow the ‘ruin bar’ theme, we’ve left as much exposed as we can, like the steel beams, brickwork and some beautiful ceramic tile, as we feel it adds to the character of the restaurant.
Wok Inn is located in a beautiful seafront building, on Blackpool's promenade, directly opposite the North Pier - the location couldn't be better. The restaurant has an amazing panoramic view, which is perfect for watching the sun setting over the sea, with the warm red glow spilling in through the huge floor to ceiling windows.
We invite you to come and take a gastronomic trip around Asia with us; whether it’s noodles, salad, rice or curry there’s something on the menu everyone will enjoy!
